To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit), KC Peaches participated in Dine by Dart activities from 19th-26th August.

On 19th August between 4pm and 7pm, KCP, along with many of Dublin’s top restaurants treated DART customers to samples of our signature pastries in the city centre’s Pearse Street DART station.  Hungry commuters tasted mini-chocolate chip cookies, raspberry bars, cuca’s lemon bars, decadent chocolate cake and more. No More First Year 10kg

The recent decision by several universities in America to remove trays from their cafeterias in order to serve a more healthy and diverse menu made me smile. I think it illustrates the excesses of Western society and the amount of waste produced negligently. However, every cloud has a silver lining, and I think this article truly demonstrates what can happen when people work together to reduce waste. My favourite part of this recent New York Times article discusses a research project undertaken by a student. She asked her fellow classmates to dispose of their leftovers into weighed bins, discovering that the student body wasted over 700 lbs of food in 2 days. I think anyone who is interested in issues of proper waste management will enjoy this quick read.
